Youth Wing Of Ndigbo United Forum, Condemns EFCC Disruption Of Igbo Youths Emergency Meeting

The Youth Wing of Ndigbo United Forum, Condemns in the Strongest terms possible, the EFCC disruption of Igbo Youths Emergency Meeting on the 16th of September, 2021.

With a very wounded heart, we received the shocking news of how Operatives of EFCC Enugu Zonal Command, stormed the venue where innocent Igbo Youths gathered to discuss the deteriorating insecurity in South East region.

The gathering of Coalition of Igbo Youths at Castle Majestic Hotel Enugu, was disrupted, and some of them arrested and injured in a clear Mafian style by Operatives of Enugu EFCC. This was even when the Lawful Gathering of Igbo Youths tried to explain themselves.

Nothing can be more condescending on the part of EFCC. Their reckless and arbitrary harassments, hounding and intimidation of Igbo Youths, is becoming very disturbing to the civil peace and order in South East region.

NUF-Wing, vigorously condemn this evolving civil monster. Without equivocation, we strongly condemn their display of high-handed rascality on Thursday night. It’s completely uncalled for.

What about the Global Best Practices for Law enforcement agencies that encourages diligent investigations before execution? What evidence does EFCC have against Igbo Youths that gathered in the interest of Ndi Igbo? What false Intel prompted them into breaking the Law they are supposed to be protecting. It is just very unfortunate.

NUF-Youth Wing is incensed with displeasure over the avoidable incident. We wish to warn EFCC and other Law Enforcement agencies that are operating in South East region, to be always Law abiding in their lines of duty. Such embarrassing incident should never repeat itself anywhere in Igbo land.
