The Executive Governor of Zamfara state, Hon. Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawallen Maradun has directed all the 14 local government council chairmen in the state to pay their workers the 2019 leave grant in earnest from Monday, 5/8/2019 so that they can celebrate the forthcoming Eid-Eil-Kabir Sallah festival with ease and fanfare.

This followed an earlier directive, this week by His Excellency for the immediate release and payment of workers leave grant to the state’s civil servants which has since commenced along with their salary for the current month of July, 2019.

The governor gave the directive to the council chairmen after meeting with them at the Government House, Gusau where he gave them the approval to commence the payment of the leave grant saying the local government staff should also enjoy the upcoming Sallah festivities without difficulty.

The governor used the occasion to declare that unlike in the past administrations where council chairmen gave part of their councils’ funds to the state’s Chief Executive, he will not ask for or collect any money from the councils nor will he deny or refuse to give them approval for genuine requests.

Matawalle stressed that even though all the council chairmen came from a different party other than his PDP, he said as the governor, he is now the leader of all and promised to carry everyone along without regards to party affiliations.

“At this meeting, the council chairmen came with request for their official vehicles and l have assured them that there is no problem, they will all get their official cars like council chairmen in other states of the federation.

It is a verifiable fact that l have never shown them any segregation but met all their requests because we are now one family working for the betterment of Zamfara as a state and for the wellbeing of our people
