₦7.5 Million Recovered from Kidnappers as Abducted Man Rescued in Delta State

Security operatives have successfully rescued a kidnapped victim and recovered ₦7.5 million ransom from suspected kidnappers in Ibusa, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State.

According to reports, Christopher Owah was abducted on Thursday, October 23, 2025, in front of his residence at Akwualusi, near St. Thomas College, Ibusa. Following the abduction, the kidnappers demanded ransom and threatened to kill the victim if their demands were not met.

However, shortly after the victim’s family delivered the ransom, the kidnappers were tracked to their hideout through Tech System Air Surveillance operated by a joint team of the 63 Brigade, Asaba, and NFSS operatives.

A fierce gun battle reportedly ensued, leading to the recovery of the ransom and the safe rescue of the victim, who is now receiving medical treatment.

The operation was coordinated under the Safe City Volunteer Foundation, led by Harrison Gwamnishu, who confirmed the development via a statement. He also expressed gratitude to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his continued support and commitment to ensuring improved security across Delta State.

Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant as efforts continue to clamp down on criminal elements operating within the region.
