Entrepreneurs and small business owners across Nigeria’s South East have been given another opportunity to benefit from a major funding initiative, following the extension of the application deadline for the South East Business Support Grant.
Organizers of the programme announced that interested applicants now have until Friday, April 3, 2026, to complete and submit their entries.
The grant, which targets small and growing businesses in the region, is designed to stimulate economic growth, empower entrepreneurs, and promote job creation. Successful applicants stand a chance of receiving up to $20,000 in financial support, a boost expected to significantly expand business operations.
According to programme coordinators, each funded business has the potential to generate between three to five sustainable jobs, contributing to improved livelihoods and stronger local economies across the South East.
Despite the scale of the opportunity, officials revealed that fewer than 400 applications have been received from the entire region so far. This, they noted, increases the chances of selection for serious and qualified applicants who take advantage of the extension.
Stakeholders have described the initiative as a timely intervention aimed at reducing unemployment and encouraging self-reliance in the region.
Eligible entrepreneurs are therefore urged to take advantage of the extended deadline and submit their applications before the closing date.

The South East Business Support Grant is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen small businesses and drive inclusive economic development in the region.
