2019 Presidency: Why Nigerians must vote Atiku – Ortom


Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has described the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as a true Nigerian with ties which cut across the entire country.

The Governor spoke today at Okiki Hotel, North Bank where he addressed and solicited support from the Yoruba community for his re-election and the election of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as President of Nigeria as well as all other PDP candidates in the forthcoming elections.

He also stated that voting for Alhaji Atiku would speed up the revamping of the country’s economy as he would deploy his private sector background to bring ideas that will facilitate the process.

He acknowledged the private sector character of the Yoruba community in the state which he said had impacted positively on its economy, stressing that the community was also known for its peaceful disposition.

The Governor, who noted that his administration was gradually overcoming some of the security challenges that had hitherto bedevilled it through quality legislation and other measures urged the Yoruba community to help security agents with intelligence gathering to combat crime.

He charged Nigerians to use their Permanent Voters Card, PVCs, as a weapon with which to chase out the invincible cabal in Aso Villa.

Chief Adeyemi Akpamkpa, State Chairman of the Yoruba community in Benue State blamed the state of Nigeria’s economy on bad government policies and programmes, stressing that with Alhaji Abubakar who is one of the highest employers of labour in the country as President, the economy would bounce back.

He said the community was aware of the track records of Governor Ortom right from his days as Local Government Council Chairman, stressing that his giant strides in security which had made business transaction friendly were commendable, assuring of their massive support for him at the polls.

Chief Isaac Akinkunmi, who led the Yoruba community to sing a solidarity song in honour of the Governor said his Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law 2017 for which he was being persecuted was the best solution to farmers and herders crises in Nigeria and globally.
