Nigerian First Female Major-General, Aderonke Kale Buried In Ogun State

The late Major General Aderonke Kale (retd.), the first female officer to attain such a rank, has been laid to rest at St James Anglican Church in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, in the South West region of Nigeria.

The late female Major General Kale died on November 8, 2023 at the age of 84.

Eulogising the late general for exemplary life worthy of emulation she had lived, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Toareed Lagbaja said she would be missed.

Represented by the Commander, Corps of Signal, Major General Gbeminga Adesina, the Army Chief said that the demise of Late General Kale was a great loss to the Nigerian Army and the country at large.

According to him, the late general was committed and dedicated to the service of the Nation which she served and rose in rank in the Nigerian Army.

The Service of songs and tribute night was held on 16 January 2024 at Admiralty Conference Centre, Victoria Island Lagos, while the wake keep was held at Chapel of the Resurrection Hall, University of Ibadan.

In attendance at the burial were the General Officer Commanding, 2 Division, Nigerian Army and other Senior Officers and Commanders of the Nigerian Army.
