The Nigerian federal government has clarified that the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) is not presently engaged in any recruitment activities, cautioning citizens against heeding social media advertisements.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board, through its Secretary, Ja’afaru Ahmed, emphasized the falsity of recruitment claims circulating on social media platforms.
“The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board notes with concern the dissemination of recruitment adverts on social media platforms, asserting the approval of the Nigeria Immigration Service 2024 merit replacement exercise. We urge the public to disregard these adverts, as they are fraudulent attempts to deceive innocent job seekers.”
“The recruitment adverts are fraudulent and have no association with the Board,” the statement clarified.
This declaration aims to alert the public to the deceptive nature of these advertisements and prevent unsuspecting individuals from falling victim to scams.
