#LongestChessMarathon: Tunde Onakoya Smashed The World Record

Tunde Onakoya, the Nigerian chess champion and advocate for child education, has shattered the global record for the longest chess marathon by playing nonstop for 58 hours in Times Square, New York City.

The previous record of 56 hours, 9 minutes, and 37 seconds was set in 2018 by Hallvard Haug Flatebø and Sjur Ferkingstad, both from Norway.
