In a statement issued on Tuesday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President (Information & Strategy), it was noted that the worst flood in recent decades has displaced thousands of residents and impacted key facilities, including the Post Office and Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.

President Tinubu extended his heartfelt condolences to the government and people of the state, particularly to families who have lost their means of livelihood due to the disaster caused by the overflow of the Alau Dam.
