The Benue government, on Saturday, flagged off the All Progressives Congress (APC) e-registration exercise for the people of Benue South Senatorial District.

During the flag-off ceremony in Otukpo, the deputy governor of the state, Sam Ode, said that the initiative was a historic milestone in Nigeria’s political party registration process.

Mr Ode described the e-registration as an innovative approach by the APC to ensure accurate and reliable data through digitised membership records.

He urged residents of the district to reciprocate the gesture of the federal and state governments by registering as members of the APC in Benue South to ensure the party’s victory in the 2027 elections.

“The more members we have will determine the higher number of votes we accumulate in the zone in order to win the forthcoming general elections at all levels.

“I therefore encourage you, my people, to key into the exercise, so that our great party will be victorious, then you can continue to enjoy more dividends of democracy from both federal and state governments.

“As you already know, APC is committed to fulfilling its electoral promises at both the national and state levels, as you can see from the achievements under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Hyacinth Alia”, he said.

Also speaking, the APC state chairman, Benjamin Omale, said that the e-registration would strengthen the party and secure electoral victories for the APC in the coming elections.

He thanked Mr Tinubu for funding the exercise and also commended Mr Alia for his steadfast support.

Mr Omale urged local government and ward party chairmen, as well as stakeholders, to mobilise their members and ensure robust participation in the process.

Meanwhile, other government appointees and officials had, in their separate remarks, expressed support for the exercise.

They urged party members from Zone C to come out in large numbers to revalidate their memberships, in a bid to boost support for Messrs Alia and Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
