The Kebbi State Government has strongly refuted recent criticisms by a group known as the Coalition of Arewa Civil Society Organisations, describing their comments as “baseless propaganda” and “a desperate move to deceive their political master.”

In a press statement signed by Ahmed Idris, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Nasir Idris, and made available to newsmen in the state on Monday, the government accused the group of spreading misinformation aimed at discrediting the achievements of the current administration.

The group had reportedly praised former Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), while launching an attack on the Kebbi State Government under the leadership of Idris.

“The so-called coalition appears to be a band of political merchants engaged in propaganda to impress their master rather than serve the interest of the public,” the statement read.

Ahmed Idris emphasised that the people of Kebbi State are well-informed and can see for themselves the “unprecedented developmental strides” achieved under Idris within a span of less than two years.

“The people of Kebbi are not blind, deaf, or ignorant.

“They are living witnesses to the rapid transformation under Governor Nasir Idris, whose achievements in less than two years surpass those of some governors who spent eight years in office,” he said.

Highlighting key accomplishments, the statement noted the successful completion of major infrastructure projects including: the multi-billion naira ultramodern State Secretariat abandoned for over a decade,

“Restructuring and revitalisation of the Kebbi State Central Motor Park, modernisation and reconstruction of township roads across the four Emirates of the state as well as construction of interconnecting rural road.

Total renovation of general hospitals equipped with modern facilities, construction and upgrade of schools across the state to ensure a conducive learning environment,” the state government remarked.

In agriculture, the government said it has consistently provided fertilisers free of charge to farmers, along with chemicals, improved inputs, solar-powered water pumps, and tilling machines to boost productivity and support national food security efforts.

The CPS described the governor as a man committed to inclusive governance, ensuring that developmental projects reach all parts of Kebbi State regardless of religion, region, or ethnicity.

He also dismissed the credibility of CASCO’s publication, urging media outlets and the general public to verify information before publishing or accepting it as truth.

“Anyone genuinely interested in Kebbi’s development should come and see the changes on the ground.

Sitting in Kaduna or Abuja to fabricate stories will yield no meaningful result,” the statement added.

The CPS reaffirmed Idris’ commitment to quality governance, stating that all projects are executed to specification, with no room for substandard delivery.

The government concluded by calling for constructive engagement rather than politically motivated attacks, insisting that the administration remains focused on delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.
