The Enugu State Waste Management Authority (ESWAMA) has announced that the state’s monthly environmental sanitation exercise will hold on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 7:00am to 10:00am.

According to an official statement released by the Authority and signed by Andreas Gebauer, Special Personal Assistant to the Governor on Water and Waste Management, movement of people and vehicles during the exercise is strictly prohibited, except for those on essential duties who must present a valid ID or ESWAMA-issued Pass.

The public is also reminded that all early morning sporting activities, loading/off-loading at motor parks, and all commercial operations across the state must be suspended within the sanitation hours.

The agency has reiterated that enforcement operations targeting illegal refuse dumping, scavenging at waste sites, and indiscriminate disposal of trash from moving vehicles or tricycles are still ongoing across Enugu metropolis.

Residents have been urged to pay their sanitation levies through ESWAMA’s e-ticketing agents to avoid sanctions.

“Defaulters will be arrested and prosecuted at the Environmental Mobile Court of Law,” the statement warned.

For further information, residents can contact the ESWAMA helpline on 08135534440.

ESWAMA continues to emphasize its commitment to “A Cleaner Tomorrow Today”, calling on all residents to play their part in keeping Enugu clean and environmentally safe.
