A social media post celebrating the humility and servant leadership style of Peter Obi has stirred heated reactions online, particularly from human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju.
Obidient leader and spokesperson of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council, Yunusa Tanko, had shared a photo of Peter Obi reportedly serving food to staff and supporters during a recent engagement. In the post, Tanko praised Obi’s consistent demonstration of humility and leadership by example, stating:
“This is the hallmark of a good and servant leadership, one who serves the people—even his staff. It is not for the show, it’s naturally inbuilt… Obidients, let’s stay focused. PO is coming… A New Nigeria is POssible.”
However, the post drew sharp criticism from activist Deji Adeyanju, who dismissed the gesture as political theatre rather than meaningful leadership.
“Is this what we have reduced leadership contest to in Nigeria, bros? Serving food?” Adeyanju queried.
“How long do these guys want to continue all these childishness? A 419 strategy that didn’t work in 2023 can’t work in 2027. Change style and strategy.”
