A prominent Oyo prince and contestant to the recent throne of Eleruwa of Eruwa, Adeyemi Akinrinade, has called on the Laribikusi Ruling House in Ibarapa East Local Government Area of Oyo State to sheath its sword and embrace peace for the overall development of the ancient town.

Akinrinade, who was nominated by the Omoni Royal Family of Laribikusi Ruling House as a contestant, made this appeal in a statement in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Thursday.

PUNCH Online reports that Governor Seyi Makinde had, on Thursday, March 6, 2025, presented the staff of office and instruments of appointment to the new Eleruwa of Eruwa, Oba Samuel Adegbola, after the State Executive Council ratified his appointment, while his official coronation was held on Saturday, June 28, 2025.

Also, recall that members of the Laribikusi Ruling House had, on Friday, June 27, 2025, a day before the official coronation, dissociated themselves from the coronation of Adegbola as the new Eleruwa of Eruwa.

However, Akinrinade, in a statement in Ibadan, said, “I want to appeal to all members of the Omoni family as well as members of Laribikusi Ruling House of Eruwa to embrace peace and go on with their normal businesses without fear.

“This call is necessary to calm people down about the tension that may arise from the forceful installation of Adegbola as the new Eleruwa of Eruwa.

“He was again installed to block the chance of the Laribikusi Ruling House to produce the new Eleruwa.” he submitted.

Akinrinade, therefore, urged the indigene of Eruwa, especially the Omoni Royal Family and the Laribikusi Ruling House, to avoid any act that could threaten the existing peaceful coexistence
