A final-year Microbiology student identified simply as Blessing has been found dead under suspicious circumstances, days after she was declared missing by a close friend
Blessing was reportedly last seen on Sunday and failed to show up for a scheduled examination on Monday. Concern mounted when messages allegedly sent from her phone claimed she had been kidnapped and that a ransom was being demanded for her release.
However, suspicion deepened when the friend who initially raised the alarm reportedly resisted attempts by concerned students to search her residence.
Acting on a tip-off, police launched an investigation and eventually discovered Blessing’s decomposing body within the compound where the friend resides. The grim discovery has sent shockwaves through the campus community.
