Chelsea have reportedly informed Bayern Munich that they will no longer proceed with the proposed loan deal for striker Nicolas Jackson.
The decision comes after Liam Delap suffered a hamstring injury in Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Fulham. Blues boss Enzo Maresca confirmed after the game that the 21-year-old forward could be sidelined for up to two months.
With Delap set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, Chelsea are unwilling to reduce their attacking options further, prompting the club to halt Jackson’s move to the Bundesliga champions.
Bayern had been in advanced discussions to bring Jackson in on loan before the setback, but the Premier League side will now keep hold of the Senegalese striker as cover in attack.
