A man who had been eagerly preparing to become a father was left stunned after discovering that his girlfriend had allegedly faked a pregnancy for several months.
According to reports, the man, who was working abroad, received the news of his supposed impending fatherhood with joy and immediately began making provisions. He rented a three-bedroom apartment for his partner and consistently sent her money for upkeep and supposed antenatal care.
To strengthen the illusion, the woman, identified as Abebo, regularly sent him pictures of her “growing belly” and what were believed to be clinic updates.
However, the man decided to return home unannounced to surprise her. Upon arrival, he attempted to touch her stomach to feel the baby’s movements—only to discover that the pregnancy was a hoax.
The shocking revelation left him bewildered, as the much-anticipated baby bump turned out to be nothing but “hot air.”
Authorities have not yet confirmed whether legal action will follow, but the incident has generated wide discussion on social media, with many users reacting with disbelief and humour.
