There was a heated exchange on Arise Television on Tuesday morning between the Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, and Arise TV anchor, Rufai Oseni, during a live interview that quickly turned confrontational.
The disagreement began when Oseni questioned the minister over certain aspects of the federal government’s ongoing road projects and transparency in contract execution. Umahi, visibly irritated, accused the journalist of misrepresenting facts and interrupting him repeatedly.
At one point, the minister snapped, saying, “You’re too small for me to report you! Who are you? Keep quiet!” — a statement that immediately caused tension in the studio.
Despite attempts by other anchors to de-escalate the situation, the exchange continued for several minutes before the programme moved on to other discussions.
