Wahala at a car wash in Asaba after a newly employed attendant reportedly fled with a customer’s car worth ₦38 million.

According to eyewitnesses, the man who brought his car for a wash had been told to drop his key with the attendant — unaware that the young man had only been employed three days earlier.

After pretending to wash the car, the attendant allegedly entered the driver’s seat under the guise of reversing the vehicle — only to zoom off and disappear without a trace.

The car, which reportedly had no tracker, has not been found as of the time of this report. The owner of the car wash has since been arrested by the police for questioning.

The person who shared the story warned car owners never to leave their car keys with attendants, saying this is not the first time such an incident has happened in Asaba.

He also advised business owners to properly screen new workers before employing them, recalling how he once lost two iPhones to a newly hired shop attendant who vanished with the phones within minutes.

“This thing don happen for Asaba many times,” he said. “If you go car wash, no give them your key. Carry your key go where you dey. Some of these people, you no even know where dem from come.”
