American rapper, producer, and fashion mogul, Kanye West, has once again thrown his hat into the political ring, confirming his intention to contest in the 2028 U.S. presidential election.
Speaking to reporters outside his Los Angeles studio on Friday, West said his new campaign would be built around a single, powerful message “world peace.”
“I’m running for president to bring peace to the world,” West declared. “This time, it’s not just about America it’s about humanity. Faith, fashion, and futuristic diplomacy will lead us there.”
The announcement, made in his typically spontaneous style, marks West’s second official entry into U.S. politics after his short-lived 2020 campaign, which drew widespread attention and controversy.
According to sources close to the rapper, preparations for his campaign have already begun, with plans to unveil a new political movement inspired by his belief in “creative governance” a blend of spirituality, innovation, and culture-driven leadership.
West, 48, also hinted at forming alliances across the political spectrum, saying he hopes to unite Americans through “vision, not division.”
“I’ve seen what fame can do, I’ve seen what money can’t fix,” he said. “Now it’s time for faith to guide leadership.”
Social media has since erupted with the hashtag #Kanye2028, as fans and critics debate whether the Grammy-winning artist can transform his celebrity influence into genuine political momentum.
If successful, Kanye West would become the first global entertainment figure to mount a sustained presidential campaign rooted in cultural diplomacy and global peace advocacy.
