Tragedy struck in Enugu over the weekend as a 22-year-old hairstylist, Miss Odama Mary Agado, allegedly took her own life after she reportedly found her boyfriend with another woman in the apartment she rented for him.

According to family sources, the young woman, who was said to be doing well in her hairdressing business, had recently purchased a car and rented an apartment for her boyfriend. The shocking discovery, however, left her devastated.

A family member identified as Daniel told reporters that Mary returned home in tears and placed a call to her mother, recounting what had happened. During the emotional conversation, she reportedly told her mother to “take whatever happens in good faith,” a statement that hinted at her troubling state of mind.

Her mother, who reportedly did not have airtime to call back or seek immediate help, later received the heartbreaking news that Mary had ingested a poisonous substance suspected to be Sniper. She was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Her remains have since been taken to her hometown in Yala, Cross River State, where she was buried immediately. The family disclosed that they decided not to involve the police, believing that she acted on her own.

“We still can’t understand why she did it. Some people say it might be spiritual, but nothing can bring her back now,” Daniel said sorrowfully.
