Real Madrid legend and current coach Xabi Alonso has defended Vinícius Júnior following a recent incident, emphasizing that the Brazilian star will face no punishment.
Speaking after a team meeting on Wednesday, Alonso praised Vini Jr for his honesty and professionalism. “Vini was impeccable when he spoke in front of us,” Alonso said. “There will be no punishment, absolutely not. The matter is closed.”
Alonso added that Vini Jr’s official statement and words to his teammates were sincere and meaningful. “His words came from his heart. That’s the most important thing,” he noted.
The coach also highlighted Vini Jr’s focus and performance on the pitch, particularly in the recent Clásico. “His Clásico performance was great. I see Vini Jr really focused, and I am more than happy with him in our squad,” Alonso concluded.
