The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has launched an extensive operation aimed at flushing out criminal elements and sustaining the relative peace in the nation’s capital.
The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Miller Dantawaye, has deployed tactical and surveillance teams under the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), as well as operatives of the Police Mobile Force (PMF) and the Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), to work in synergy with the Department of Operations and all Divisional Police Formations in the territory.
In a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the special operation, which commenced in November 2025 and will run through January 2026, is designed to identify, dislodge, and apprehend all criminal elements operating within the nooks and crannies of the FCT.
The police teams have been directed to intensify patrols and dominate identified black spots, criminal hideouts, and vulnerable communities to ensure residents’ safety and security.
The Commissioner of Police also warned officers participating in the operation to take the assignment seriously and to discharge their duties professionally.
He emphasized that no act of misconduct or unprofessional behaviour will be tolerated, and that officers must uphold the highest standards of discipline, integrity, and respect for human rights.
Residents have been urged to cooperate with the police throughout the operation and to remain security-conscious by reporting suspicious movements or activities to the nearest police station.
