Many Pastors Are on the Altar for Business, Not Truth – Odumeje

Odumeje

Controversial preacher, Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, has criticized Nigerian pastors for their silence in the face of worsening hardship and bad governance across the country.

Speaking during a recent sermon, Odumeje lamented that many modern-day Christian leaders have abandoned their prophetic responsibilities out of fear and self-interest.

“Christians of these days are the ones living in fear. That’s why when you tell them to call out bad governance, they keep quiet,” he said. “It shows many are only on the altar for business. As far as the Bible is concerned, men of God have always confronted leaders.”

Odumeje, known for his dramatic preaching style and outspoken personality, said the pulpit should not be used merely for comfort or financial gain, but as a platform for truth and accountability.

He accused some clerics of prioritizing political connections and material wealth over the welfare of the people, stressing that genuine men of God must speak out against injustice, corruption, and oppression.

“Nigeria is going through one of its toughest times, yet many pastors are silent because they fear losing members or favors,” Odumeje added. “A true prophet stands for truth, even when it is inconvenient.”
