The Rector of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT),Enugu in his drive for total renovation and beautification of the institute, has inaugurated the Central Planning Committee for the holistic actualization of the NEW IMT PROJECT initiative.
The Rector made this announcement when some alumnus members of the Institute paid him a solidarity visit, a team led by one of the most influential youths in the country and the National Vice President of the IMT Alumni Association Hon Monday Diamond Ani and Hon Princess Obiajulu Ugwu Member and the Chief Whip Enugu State House of Assembly.
The Solidarity visit followed the One Year Anniversary celebration of the Rector Prof Chigozie Ogbodo with record breaking achievements which includes:
-Full Accreditation of all the courses being offered in IMT
-Commissioning of all the TETFUND ATTRACTED PROJECTS, as well the Enugu State and School Funded projects by the South East TETFUND Rep Mrs Esther Ukachukwu and SSG Enugu State Prof Chidi Onyia
-Establishment of IMT Bottle Water and Sachet water
- Establishment of IMT Confectionery
-Payment of Salaries arrears through the Enugu State Intervention
-Conversion of Adhoc/Part time Staff into permanent staff.
- unveiling of the NEW IMT PROJECT initiative and many others.
The NEW IMT PROJECT Initiative is a multifaceted renovation cum beautification project with the;
Theme : RENOVATION &BEAUTIFICATION OF IMT: Driving Educational Excellence through Conducive Learning and Economic Sustainability.
This initiative is meant to help the government and the school management attracts capital support for the renovation and beautification of IMT from well to-to-do alumni members of IMT.
The NEW IMT PROJECT initiative official launch will be done on the second week of December, 2025 , at the IMT International Conference Centre,Enugu.

Meanwhile, the exercise also graciously received the presence of the Enugu State Commissioner for Science, Technology and Innovation Engr Dr Lawrence Eze(Prince of Mburubu) who promptly expressed his full support for the NEW IMT PROJECT initiative and pledged to be part of the success of this historic project for the over all betterment of IMT, Enugu State and the society at large.
Conclusively, the Chairman and Co Chairman of the Committee in their respective acceptance speeches promised to effectively synergize with the team to achieve the desired results.
