Isaac Fayose’s Birthday Message Accuses Ex-Governor of Abandoning Family and Party

A viral social media message posted by Isaac Fayose, younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Peter Fayose, has sparked widespread reactions after he accused the ex-governor of betraying those who supported his rise to power — including members of his own family.

In a birthday video shared on his Facebook page, Isaac congratulated the former governor on turning 65 but issued a stern rebuke over what he described as Ayodele Fayose’s “selfishness” and lack of appreciation for those who stood by him.

“A birthday message to my brother Ayodele Peter Fayose at 65. May God bless your new age. I pray as you enter this new age, the spirit of selfishness in you will disappear and you can be a good man and turn a new leaf,” Isaac said.

He recounted how their late sister, Mrs. Bimpe Shorinolu, made significant sacrifices to support Fayose’s political ambition, including selling her land in Maryland, Lagos, in 2002 to raise ₦3 million for his PDP governorship ticket.

“Bimpe Shorinolu sold her land to help you get the ticket when you didn’t have money. She raised ₦3 million for you,” Isaac stated.

Despite such support, Isaac alleged that the former governor has since abandoned both his family and his political associates.

“You betrayed everybody that has helped you in life to be where you are today. You had your birthday yesterday, and none of your siblings from your mother’s side were there — not even your mother. She was not invited,” he claimed.

Isaac also accused the former governor of turning his back on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the platform that produced him as governor twice.

“The party that gave you ticket twice to be governor — you betrayed them. You betrayed your political family in Ekiti, your siblings, your mother, even our late sisters,” he said.

Comparing Fayose’s conduct to other prominent political families, Isaac praised the unity of the Adeleke, Orji Uzor Kalu, and Yar’Adua families, suggesting his brother lacked such loyalty.

“Those families stood together, grew together, and moved together. But you believe once you are okay, every other person can go,” he lamented.

Despite the strong allegations, Isaac maintained that his message was not driven by resentment but by a desire for his elder brother to change.

“We are not bitter. We are still praying for you. We wish you well. You are not our breadwinner. We are all doing well on our own level. But we want you to turn a new leaf.”
