Kidnapped Chinese Expatriate Regains Freedom After Deadly Edo Attack

The Chinese expatriate abducted during the September 5 attack that claimed the lives of eight operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Edo State has regained his freedom.

The victim, identified as Mr. Wang, was kidnapped during an assault on NSCDC personnel assigned to protect Chinese workers at the BUA Cement Plant in Okpella.

According to information obtained by Akelicious, Mr. Wang was released at about 11:30 p.m. on December 2 in Kabba, Kogi State. Sources said the expatriate immediately departed Nigeria upon regaining his freedom and has since returned to China.

It remains unclear whether ransom was paid or how negotiations were conducted, as no official details have been disclosed regarding the terms of his release.
