The United States has announced that it carried out airstrikes against suspected ISIS militants operating in Northern Nigeria, following allegations that the group has been responsible for violent attacks on civilians, including Christian communities.

In a statement attributed to former U.S. President Donald J. Trump, the operation was described as a decisive military action ordered in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief. According to the statement, the strikes targeted terrorist elements accused of carrying out mass killings in the region.

Trump said the operation involved what he described as “numerous precise strikes,” praising the U.S. military’s capabilities and warning extremist groups against further violence. He emphasized that the United States would not allow what he termed “radical Islamic terrorism” to flourish under his leadership.

Following the announcement, a video clip allegedly showing the U.S. Army operation was shared by the U.S. Department of War, depicting aerial attacks on suspected terrorist positions in Northern Nigeria. The authenticity and timing of the footage have not yet been independently verified.
