Police Officer, Three Others Abducted by Bandits on Gusau–Sokoto Highway

A police officer and three other individuals have been abducted by suspected bandits along the Gusau–Sokoto highway in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The abduction occurred on Friday at about 1:10 p.m. when armed men reportedly blocked the highway around Gidan Kano village and forcefully took four people away from the area.

One of the victims has been identified as Police Constable Gaddafi Faruku, while the identities of the three other abducted persons have yet to be disclosed. The assailants were said to have taken the victims to an unknown destination.

Security sources confirmed that efforts are underway to track the abductors and secure the safe release of those taken. Meanwhile, residents and commuters have been advised to exercise caution while traveling along the route and to report any useful information that could assist security agencies.

The Gusau–Sokoto highway has remained a flashpoint for bandit attacks in recent years, raising renewed concerns over the safety of motorists and residents in the area.
