UFC bantamweight fighter Cameron Smotherman collapsed shortly after successfully making weight for UFC 324 in Las Vegas on Friday.
Smotherman weighed in at 135.5 pounds and was scheduled to face Ricky Turcios on Saturday at the T-Mobile Arena. Moments after stepping off the scale, the fighter appeared unsteady before collapsing, prompting an immediate response from on-site medical personnel.
Medical staff rushed to Smotherman’s aid and attended to him for several minutes before he was eventually carried away from the weigh-in area for further evaluation. The incident raised concerns over his condition following the weight-cut process.
