Nollywood actress Fathia Williams has announced the heartbreaking passing of her mother, revealing that the tragedy occurred on the eve of her birthday party.
In an emotional statement shared on Monday, the actress disclosed that she recently marked her 55th birthday, which fell on Thursday, February 5, but chose to hold the celebration on Sunday. Unbeknownst to her at the time, her beloved mother passed away a day before the party, with the news deliberately withheld from her.
Fathia described her late mother as her cheerleader, prayer warrior, best friend, and confidant, noting that the reality of her death has yet to fully sink in.
“Whilst I have taken solace in Allah (SWT), the Williams’ family has decided to keep things very private for now,” she said, appealing for prayers and support for herself and her siblings during the difficult period.
The actress added that burial arrangements would be communicated at a later date.
