A civil defence officer has been arrested for allegedly specialising in vehicle snatching in the Orozo area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
Security authorities confirmed that the suspect is linked to the theft of no fewer than four vehicles within the Orozo axis before his activities were uncovered.
According to preliminary findings, the officer allegedly used his position and knowledge of security operations to evade suspicion while carrying out the crimes. His arrest followed intelligence gathering and coordinated efforts by security operatives in the territory.
Investigations are currently ongoing to determine whether other accomplices were involved and to recover additional stolen vehicles, if any.
