Ogun State’s Gateway International Airport has been identified as a key infrastructure project that could significantly improve cargo movement in Nigeria and the wider West African region.

During a visit to Governor Dapo Abiodun, the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Shippers’ Council, Dr. Akutah Pius Okeyima, said the airport will serve as a strategic hub for cargo transportation once fully operational.

He also noted that Ogun State’s position as one of Nigeria’s leading industrial hubs makes efficient logistics infrastructure even more important. The Shippers’ Council boss praised the pace of development in the state and commended the government for creating a business-friendly environment that continues to attract industries and investments.
