Security Tightened in Anambra Ahead of Governor’s Second Term Inauguration

The Anambra State Police Command has commenced high-level security preparations ahead of the second term inauguration of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo.

A closed-door security meeting is currently underway at the Command Headquarters on Sunday, March 15, 2026, bringing together tactical commanders, commanders of the Police-led Joint Security Team, and other senior officers responsible for operational planning for the inauguration ceremony.

The meeting is aimed at reviewing and fine-tuning strategies contained in the Police Operation Order to guarantee effective security arrangements before, during, and after the event.

Addressing the officers, the Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu, charged them to remain highly vigilant and ensure seamless coordination among all security agencies involved in the operation.

He emphasized the importance of strengthening inter-agency collaboration to maintain law and order and provide a safe environment for residents, dignitaries, and visitors expected to attend the inauguration.

The Police Command reassured the public of its commitment to ensuring a peaceful and secure atmosphere across the state as preparations for the swearing-in ceremony intensify.
