Enugu Businessman, Augustine Oguejiofor Arrested for ₦650 Million Land Fraud After Years of Evasion

Augustine Oguejiofor

Enugu-based businessman Augustine Oguejiofor, popularly known as Onwa Enugu, has been arrested following a petition over a multi-million naira land fraud. According to reports, Oguejiofor allegedly collected ₦650 million from Mr. Ifeanyi Udezu in 2023 for a parcel of land in Wuye, but failed to hand over the property.

For the past three years, Oguejiofor reportedly used his wealth and influence to suppress the case, allegedly bribing security officers who attempted to investigate. Despite interventions from prominent Igbo figures, including billionaire Arthur Eze, no action was taken to recover the funds.

The breakthrough came when Mr. Udezu involved another titled Igbo elder, Obata Osu—also known by multiple nicknames such as VeryDarkMan and Ratel. Law enforcement, under the direction of Olatunji Rilwan Disu, acted decisively to ensure Oguejiofor’s arrest, signaling a renewed commitment to justice for ordinary citizens.
