Trump Alleges Nigerian Fake News Source Behind CNN Iran Story

Trump and CNN

U.S. President Donald Trump has accused CNN of broadcasting a fabricated statement related to the Iran conflict, describing it as a “FRAUD.”

In a post, Trump claimed the report originated from a “Fake News site (from Nigeria)” and was wrongly presented by CNN as a legitimate headline.

“The alleged Statement put out by CNN World News is a FRAUD, as CNN well knows,” Trump said, adding that authorities are now investigating whether a crime was committed or if it involved a “rogue player.”

He also stated that the official Iranian statement has since been released, insisting CNN must “immediately withdraw this Statement with full apologies” for what he called “terrible reporting.”

The clash comes amid ongoing negotiations with Iran, where Trump has described Tehran’s 10 point proposal as a “workable basis” for talks, alongside a temporary two week ceasefire tied to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

CNN has not yet publicly responded to the allegations.
