The Rivers State Ministry of Education has suspended Wisdom Gate International School, Campus 1, located in Eligbolo, following the death of a two-year-old pupil.
The incident reportedly occurred on March 17, 2026, prompting concerns from the child’s parents. In a statement, the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Peters Nwagor, expressed deep sympathy to the family, describing the loss as irreparable.
He stated that the ministry had engaged with the school management and conducted an independent investigation into the matter. The ministry also urged the public to respect the family’s privacy and avoid speculation.
Dr. Nwagor reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring safety, proper care, and quality standards in all schools across the state.
