Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has called for stronger national unity and inclusive governance during a visit to Bauchi State Government House, where he met with Governor Bala Mohammed.
Speaking during the engagement with key stakeholders in Bauchi and the North-East region, Obi emphasized the need for collaboration across political and regional lines to build a more cohesive and progressive Nigeria.
“My purpose of coming here is to solicit for the support and cooperation of His Excellency and stakeholders in Bauchi, alongside the North-East, in our quest to unite this country,” Obi said.
He stressed that unity remains a critical foundation for national development, adding that Nigeria must create an enabling environment where equal opportunities exist for all citizens, regardless of background.
“We need a united country to build a better future for our children, where a child of nobody can become somebody without knowing anybody,” he added.
Obi’s visit is seen as part of ongoing consultations and engagements with political leaders and stakeholders across the country, as conversations around national cohesion, governance, and development continue to shape public discourse.
Governor Bala Mohammed, who received the former Anambra State governor, has yet to issue an official statement on the outcome of the meeting at the time of filing this report.
