Governor Umo Eno Hosts Defence Minister,

The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to sustaining peace and security across the state following a high-level visit by Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Christopher Gwabin Musa.

The Defence Minister, a retired General, was received at the Government House in Uyo during an official visit aimed at strengthening collaboration between the state government and security agencies.

Governor Eno, while addressing the visit, expressed appreciation for the Minister’s commendation of the state’s progress, particularly in areas of peace, development, and governance under the ARISE Agenda. He noted that Akwa Ibom’s relative stability is the result of deliberate policies focused on the welfare of citizens and sustained partnerships with security operatives.

He further assured the Minister of the state government’s continuous support for all security formations operating within Akwa Ibom, emphasizing that safety remains a top priority of his administration.

In his remarks, the Defence Minister acknowledged the strides made by the state government and praised its people-centered approach to governance, which he said has contributed significantly to maintaining peace in the region.

Governor Eno reaffirmed that his administration would remain committed to building a safer, stronger, and more prosperous Akwa Ibom State.
