Troops of Sector 1, Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), have arrested two suspected terrorists during a fighting patrol in Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State.
Security sources said the operation was carried out on April 24 by troops deployed at Agbaragba and Abian, targeting suspected terrorist enclaves in Sengev and Abaji communities.
According to the sources, although no direct contact was made with the criminal elements during the patrol, troops successfully apprehended two suspected terrorists in the course of the operation.
“Troops also recovered two motorcycles believed to be used by the suspects for criminal activities,” the source said.
The suspects, along with the recovered motorcycles, are currently in custody for further investigation and necessary action.
The operation is part of sustained efforts by security forces to rid Benue communities of criminal elements and ensure the safety of residents.
