Residents of Abule Oja and Abule Ijesha in Yaba, Lagos, tpoday, April 27, staged a protest at the Ikeja Electric Distribution Company officials over discriminatory power distribution and systemic corruption.
The aggrieved residents claim they have suffered over six months of near-total blackout in their environment with supply reportedly as low as one hour every five days. They gathered at the company’s Igbobi branch to protest, holding placards and chanting solidarity songs as they demanded an immediate resolution to the poor electricity supply.
