Bwala Reacts to Viral Photo, Takes Swipe at Peter Obi Supporters

The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has reacted to a viral photo of himself circulating online, using the moment to deliver a pointed critique of supporters of Peter Obi.

In a statement shared on his social media platforms, Bwala expressed admiration for the image, noting that “whoever did it, tried,” while emphasizing the importance of context in political discourse. He argued that intellectuals and progressives view governance through a lens that acknowledges challenges as part of a broader process toward development.

According to Bwala, progress cannot exist without process, adding that perspectives on governance often depend on whether individuals see situations as “half full or half empty.”

The presidential aide, however, took a swipe at Obi’s supporters—popularly known as Obidients—claiming they consistently adopt a pessimistic outlook. He described them as “disillusioned, disgruntled and confused,” alleging that their tendency to see issues as “half empty” fuels their criticism of the current administration.

Bwala concluded his remarks by encouraging Nigerians to adopt a more optimistic perspective, stating that a “half full” mindset reflects hope, while a “half empty” outlook mirrors negativity.
