Demonstrators carried placards with inscriptions such as “Justice for Akidi” and “What was his offense?”, expressing outrage over what they described as the unlawful killing of an innocent citizen.

Eyewitness accounts claim that the incident has further heightened fear and distrust among residents, especially as the killing reportedly occurred within the home area of the Mayor of Awka North. Some of the aggrieved youths also directed their frustration at the Anambra State Government, calling on Governor Chukwuma Soludo to urgently intervene. One protester, speaking during the demonstration, accused security operatives of repeated misconduct, saying, “This is the second time security men are killing innocent children in our land.”
As of the time of filing this report, authorities are yet to release an official statement regarding the incident. However, calls for a thorough investigation and accountability continue to grow louder, with community leaders urging calm while demanding justice.
