Chelsea have officially unveiled Xabi Alonso as the club’s new manager, with the Spaniard delivering an ambitious first message to supporters after his appointment was confirmed. Alonso signed a four-year deal and is expected to begin his new role with a clear vision for restoring Chelsea’s status among football’s elite.
Speaking after his unveiling, Alonso described Chelsea as “one of the biggest clubs in world football” and said becoming manager fills him with “immense pride.” He also revealed that discussions with the club’s ownership and sporting leadership convinced him they share the same ambition — building a team capable of competing consistently at the highest level and challenging for major trophies.
The former manager highlighted the quality already within the squad and expressed confidence in the club’s future, stating that his focus will now be on hard work, creating the right culture and delivering silverware at Stamford Bridge.
