A Canada-based Nigerian doctor, identified as Zo, has advised men against making marriage decisions solely based on a woman’s sexual history, saying “body count” does not define a person’s character or suitability for marriage.
Zo made the remarks while recounting advice he recently gave to a male friend living abroad who was considering ending his engagement after discovering that his fiancée had previously been involved with two men he personally knows in Nigeria.
According to the doctor, he urged his friend to look beyond the woman’s past and focus instead on her present character, values, and commitment to the relationship.
“Forget about body count. Body count doesn’t always count. Sometimes it’s better to marry a lady who has gone into the world and experienced life than to marry one who hasn’t,” he said.
He further argued that assumptions about innocence can be misleading, adding, “Those you think are less evil, what they are doing behind the scenes will shock you.”
