A couple who illegally scaled New York City’s iconic Empire State Building to stage a marriage proposal has been arrested by authorities.
The pair, identified as Ivan Kuznetsov, 32, and Angelina Nikolau, 33, allegedly climbed the skyscraper without authorization before the proposal took place.
Following the incident, both were arrested and charged with multiple offences, including burglary, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, violation of local law, possession of burglar’s tools, criminal tampering, criminal trespass, and disorderly conduct.
Authorities say the stunt endangered public safety and violated several laws protecting the landmark and its visitors.
