A tense confrontation broke out in Asaba, Delta State, after popular philanthropist Lord Zeus reportedly encountered a young girl selling pomo late at night.
According to reports, the incident occurred at about 9:34 p.m. while Lord Zeus was returning home. He allegedly saw the child hawking on the street and stopped to speak with her while recording the interaction.
The girl reportedly told him she was living with her aunt.
During the encounter, another woman approached and challenged Lord Zeus, accusing him of spending too much time recording the child instead of helping her. The situation quickly escalated into a heated argument, with the woman allegedly assaulting the person filming the incident.
Amid the confrontation, the young girl broke down in tears and reportedly pleaded not to be taken back home after learning that Lord Zeus intended to meet with her aunt.
The incident has sparked conversations on social media about child hawking, child welfare, and the responsibilities of guardians in ensuring the safety and well-being of children.
