The Anambra State Police Command has announced plans to strengthen community policing through strategic collaboration with creative content producers, including skit makers, comedians, and digital media influencers, as part of efforts to promote peace, security awareness, and responsible citizenship across the state.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the initiative is designed to harness the wide reach and influence of digital content creators to educate the public on crime prevention and encourage law-abiding behaviour.
According to the Command, the partnership will focus on raising awareness against cultism, drug abuse, cybercrime, gender-based violence, misinformation, and other social vices, while also fostering greater trust and cooperation between the police and members of the public.
The Police noted that the initiative aligns with the Nigeria Police Force’s community policing philosophy and the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), a programme that prioritises crime prevention through advocacy, public enlightenment, and youth engagement.
The Command reaffirmed its commitment to adopting innovative and inclusive strategies to improve public safety, urging residents to support ongoing efforts aimed at preventing crime and sustaining peace across Anambra State.
The statement was signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, on behalf of the Anambra State Police Command, Awka, on July 15, 2026.
