A Nigerian woman identified as Ada has shared her account of how her marriage allegedly fell apart after she sponsored her husband’s relocation to the United States, claiming she later divorced him and that he was deported to Nigeria.
In a lengthy social media post, Ada denied allegations that she maliciously reported her husband, Jude, to U.S. immigration authorities.
According to her, she met Jude during a church programme in Enugu while visiting Nigeria from the United States, where she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). She said they maintained a long-distance relationship for four years before getting married.
Ada claimed she made significant financial sacrifices to help Jude relocate to America, including selling the only piece of land left to her by her late father to fund his immigration process.
She alleged that shortly after arriving in the U.S., Jude’s attitude changed. According to her, he began staying out late, distancing himself from her, and eventually insulted her appearance during an argument.
Ada further claimed that the following day, Jude left their home without notice after allegedly emptying the wardrobe.
Responding to criticism online, she insisted she did not report her husband to immigration authorities, arguing that he was responsible for whatever immigration consequences he later faced.
The woman alleged that the marriage eventually ended in divorce and that Jude was deported to Nigeria.
Her story has generated widespread reactions on social media, with many expressing sympathy for her, while others have urged the public to withhold judgment until Jude gives his own account of what transpired.
The claims made by Ada have not been independently verified, and Jude has not publicly responded to the allegations at the time of this report.
