Hon. Abdullahi Ghali Basaf, the former Chairman of Kumbotso Local Government Area in Kano State, has reportedly returned to his tailoring profession after being removed from office by a court earlier this year. The Kano State High Court nullified his election in March 2026 and declared another candidate the rightful winner.

Basaf, who served as Kumbotso LGA chairman until his removal, is now said to be working full-time as a tailor. According to reports, he described tailoring as offering greater peace of mind and a more dependable source of livelihood than politics.
His return to his former profession has sparked conversations on social media, with many praising his decision to embrace honest work after leaving public office.
